V3 HUD for Combat Flight Simulator 2 by ELE

This has been a while comin, and I appologize for the wait.
Life's been a little hecktick at my end to say the least, and I'm a procrastinator of the first order to boot....
But here is what your going to get;

"A simple revisement of the stock HUD that came with the game, complete with control surfaces indicator, pitch trim indicator, MPH reading, spoiler activation indicator, more accurate compass reading, vertical speed indication, sideslip and yaw indication." see attached jpg.

Please keep in mind this is a work in progress, and if you don't see what you asked for, don't fret, I'm now working on V4. I've used only stock or freeware gauges and have renamed those I've altered or plan to alter to negate overwrite problems.
Please make backups of all duplicates including your default_panel.cfg file found in main cfs2 folder before installing in case you want to return to stock settings. the default Hud gauges are included here for sanities sake, so any overwriting prompt may be ignored as I habitually rename ANY gauge I alter. I have also test installed this zip on my rig with complete success, so enjoy...

I'd like to thank all who helped with Idea's on this but fear I'll miss many, though here is a woefully incomplete and partial list...

Cursed, for; having the MPH need before any other's.
Hawkeye for; getting in that line just a step behind him.
_51st_Pappy; for the new compass, (not what ya wanted, but closer...)
dcc; for letting me know I was'nt the only one who flew around with the dive-brakes down, (never agin m8)
David C. Copley; for the great P-38L, and more importantly, the lead to the divebrake gauge included, and renamed cfs25ELE.gau in case I should alter it at a later date for V4 (the next version of HUD)
Jerry Beckwith; For the MPH gauge I repainted and resized and therefore renamed cfs24ELE.gau
All other .gau's are stock repaints of cfs/cfs2 gauges and copyright of Microsoft Corperation, hope they don't set the hound's on me. 9)
And to all the other great guys who have helped, but are unsung here, A Debt of Gratitude is owed to you all from all of us. You know who you are, next rounds on me guys...

This is, and probably alway's will be a working beta, I claim absolutely NO copy-right to any of this. Consider it public domain and do with it as you wish, (while respecting Microsofts and the Gauge designers various rights of course). In other words, I encourage you to tear it apart and make it your own as much as you want. I will continue to build a better beast so to speak, but will take my time and will try to release them as sets for cfs1/2 as this one will be by weekend's end. (Differing x/y coords remain a thorn when transfering the gau files from 1-2, so it will be a day till the cfs1 version).

Known issues; the text messages are partially obscured for the stock HUD!info.gau (I.E., tail hook extended, canopy opening, illustrated above). The score in QC will not be in the release as it is in this pic, (always something to fix, lol).

Should be uploaded to all sights by end of 3/25/01, so know that in multiplayer, if you aint got it, your at a disadvantage! The other guy will!

Idea's for version 4;
cfs2gps; visual readings in hud view, (thx Capy, think I can get it to work if I get some help with transparencies...) It's next on list
aileron trim indication; for myself
rudder trim indication; thx to fightertown's P-61 beta panel for idea
and anything else YOU want, just drop me a line at the below e-mail address.
Enjoy...

ELE out

P.S. I know I intended to send this as a beta through E-mail, but I've had so many responses to my quiries for ideas that it would only cause problems with cfs1-2 mismatches that I'm just going to let it loose and cross fingers. works perfect on my rig at all resolutions from 460x800 up to 1200x1600, so here it is! I'll be notifiying all corespondents through E-Mail as to link to d/l, so watch out, the world just started flying full screen hud WITH insturments! (and I'm going to hide under the bed for a couple of weeks till you all get used to all the "moving parts" in HUD view). Give it a chance, it's a little distracting, but I've found the positives outweigh the negitives 10 fold. Wait till V4 when I start getting rid of the stock gauges to really freak out! lol
